Comics of the Week – Jan 26

This week’s comics take a different approach to the typical drama. Facing intrigue and upheaval, how will the characters react and push through their dilemmas?

Michael – What would it like to be a mutant in an all human high school? Michael is about to find out as his sharkmue DNA kicks in just before his freshman year. Some want to put him on a pedastal, some want to run him out on a rail. All Michael wants is to survive his first year of high school.

Soul’s Journey – A cursed pendant turns a runaway prince into a wolf. Can he find a way back to his human form to stop the brewing war on the horizon before it’s too late?

6 Panels.

Panel 1,2:
Steffano raises an arm and points at the façade. He seems calm and enjoying the moment. Nikita, on the other hand, looks progressively more annoyed.

Steffano: You are being unfair, Nikita. We could afford to learn something with our past. Think of a society in which no one is beyond redemption. That nobody is so broken that cannot be fixed, even if they fall preyto their worst selves.

Panel 3,4:
Nikita gestures at the façade, annoyed. He scoffs.

Nikita: Ah, but that's only insofar as you believe the same stories that they do! The end of the world and all that! As far as I know, the world already ended and we're still here!
Steffano (off panel): Is that much of a crime to you to believe in something that's bigger than ourselves?
Nikita: It's a WASTE of human faculty.

Panel 5:
A top view of a statue with the hands and head chopped off. Steffano gesticulates, getting more heated up.

Steffano (emphasis): It's not up to us to decide which expressions of the human machine are allowed or not!

Panel 6:
Nikita explodes as the panel acquires a redish tint. He's yelling, much to Steffano's surprise.

Nikita: They BURNED the future, Steffano! How many centuries did mankind receed the day they set the telescopes on fire? The path to the stars was in our grasp, but they decided OUR TALENTS WERE MADE OF SIN!
