On the highest hill of Coimbra, capital of Lusitania, we can find the Academia, the university center that takes in students from all over the country. Academia has two main campuses: Alta and New Sofia, the latter of which resulted from the reestructuring of the academic buildings following the sea level rise.

Through its militarization, a direct consequence of 180 years of conflicts, Academia marks her presence in the battlefield, promoting guerillha tactics that stall the march of the enemy towards the city.
