Panel 1 takes the entire page, the other 3 overlay it on the right side of the page. The shore, as the sea hits the sand loudly. There's a full moon heading towards the horizon, and some clouds. Here and there, the lights of boats in the ocean.

Ângela, sleeping on the back of Filipa's tractor, with Eurico's cape and mask on.

She wakes up, startled. Her hands are tied.

Panel 4:
She lifts the mask off her face and looks outside.

Panel 1:
Filipa is squating, a little far away from the tractor. She's got a brick-colored devil mask on her face, and is carrying a shotgun. In front of her, a box full of meditan stuff is opened. Miguel is standing next to the tractor, and looks in the surprised Ângela's direction.

Filipa: Oh, so you're finally awake.
Ângela: ...W-who are you?
Filipa: I ask the questions here, ok? That desluso -

Panel 2:
Filipa gets up. Her dark cape and long hair float with the night wind.

Filipa (cont): Don't even dare use it for something stupid or I'll render it useless.

Panel 3,4:

Filipa (cont): Boom! Headshot.
Ângela: He's not-
Filipa: Get out of the truck. We're going for a walk.

Filipa forces Ângela to walk until she's got her feet in the ocean, at shotgun point. As Ângela looks at her tied hands, they display several deep wounds, as they did before when Eurico approached her.

Panel 1:
The Foreigner is looking towards the ocean, with his desluso mask on. Further, the box and the meditan contents, still open and slightly spread out.

Filipa (off panel): Who are you? Where did you get all this meditan shit and that FORMER spaniard?

Panel 2:
Ângela stands in front of the ocean, looking back at Filipa. Behind her, the dark ocean, the clouds and the moon's reflection on the water.

Ângela: My name is Ângela, Sinistra SECUNDUM PRAXIS. I'm on my second year of med school and I work at the Academia's morgue. I have access to the storage facilities.

Panel 3:
Ângela looks at her hands, which display wounds again. Filipa is behind her, holding the shotgun. It's windy.

Filipa: Oh yeah? And what do you do at the morgue?
Ângela: I clean and reconfigure corpses.
Filipa: Simplify that for me, will you?
Ângela: I rewire their neural pathways so they're easy to control in battle.

A close up of Filipa's face. We can see her squinting behind the mask.

Idk I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship?

Meanwhile Ângela’s still out there seeing things and hearing voices, that must be nice.

This is the last page I’m uploading this year! O Sarilho is going to take a quick break for the holidays and I’m sure it’ll be back on January again. I did not prepare any celebratory images for the holidays so if you see someone it’s because I figured those out after writing this. But if I had to bet, I’d say I’m not doing any, I’m not good with those things.

The horizon continues.

Filipa (off panel): You rewire neural pathways... Damn, Ângela, you must be the dumbest witch I know. Good thing I kept my distance.

Panel 2:
Ângela kneels down in the water, covering her face, as she hears Filipa unlock her shotgun. Filipa points the weapon at her and positions herself to shoot.

Ângela: NONONO PLEASE DON'T SHOOT.

Panel 3:
The colors go black, red and white as Ângela's hands seem to melt off her face.

Ângela: Please... don't sh...

Panel 4:
Filipa, exhasperated, shouting.

Filipa: Why is an extractor on the run from the PDL!?

Panel 5:
Black white and red as Ângela believes Eurico is the one holding the shotgun, with the words I'LL KILL YOU written over him.

Panel 6:
The Foreigner approaches the scene slowly. Filipa hears his footsteps and turns back.

Panel 1:
Filipa looks back and sees the Foreigner approach sorta menacingly, and she's startled.

Filipa: I TOLD YOU TO DISARM THE DESLUSO!
Ângela (off panel): Wh- Miguel!?

Panel 2,3:
Ângela stands back up slowly, as the waves crash into her. She pleas.

Ângela: Miguel is not a desluso! He was being interrogated by the PDL and I helped him escape!

Panel 4:
Filipa is confused between the two of them. The Foreigner is still quite far away, in the shadows.

Filipa: Interrogated? They're dressing living prisioners as corpses now? That shit's fucked up.

Panel 5:
A shot of the Foreigner, as the wind moves Ângela's cape and it's visible that he is covered in blood from several wounds.

Filipa (off panel): What did they do to this poor bastard?
Ângela: What they always do.

Been thinking about this for a while now, but would you guys mind sharing how you heard of this comic? How did O Sarilho get into your lives. Did someone tell you about it? Did I tell you about it? ? Are you here by mistake?

I’m very curious, this has been tormenting me forever.

Filipa, confused and somewhat angry, points her shotgun back at Ângela. She's shouting.

Filipa: He's an ENEMY OF THE STATE! AND YOU'RE HELPING HIM! Explain to me why I shouldn't just give you to the PDL!? If you'd be so kind!!

Panel 4,5:
Ângela gets up, slowly. Her gaze is distant and somber.

Ângela: Filipa. You are here because you fear the PDL may do to you what you believe it has done to someone close to you. A sibling, maybe? You said too much in front of the wrong person. You're afraid and your family is compromised.

Panel 6:
Filipa holds the shotgun closer to her face.

Filipa: You don't know me, witch.

Look, it’s me, being absolutely unsubtle about the points I want to make with this story!!!!

I had to revise the dialog for this page at least some 10 times before I got to a version I’m not terribly unfond of. This one still ain’t it but we gotta push through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways just gonna leave this here and let you figure out how the life in Lusitânia must be like (a joy).

Also you know what? This might be one of my top favourite comic pages ever. I don’t know, it’s simple, effective and summarizes a lot. But hey, why don’t you tell me which were your favourite pages so far?

Ângela: You may have a vague understanding of what our country does to whom it deems its enemies, but, as an extractor, I have studied to bring that exact vision to life. You may GUESS, but I KNOW. The definition of enemy is very malleable in the hands of a state that has already decided it does not care if it tramples over its own people. It's not just THEM. It's never JUST THEM. Tomorrow, it will be you.

Any trust Filipa might have had on the PDL kinda disappeared in the previous chapter but anyways maybe she just needed to refresh her memory.

The ocean waves hit the partially flooded ruins that go all the way into the sea.

Filipa (off panel): I could turn you in. I could turn you and the spaniard in. Make a good deal with the police.
Ângela (off panel): Do you trust them that much?

Panel 2:
Filipa sighs and raises her shoulders as she moves the shotgun away from Ângela.

Filipa: OOF. Good grief.

Panel 3:
Filipa stands in front of Ângela with a hand in a hip and the other one holding the shotgun to her side. Almost conversational.

Filipa: What did you do to have Inspector Eurico on your back? I mean, 'sides stealing his mask?
Ângela (surprised): You know him?
Filipa: We worked together in the Atégina Mission.

Panel 4:
A single shooting-star crosses the sky. The sky slowly turns punk as the morning draws closer. The Foreigner stands on the sand, and the wind makes Ângela's cape swing around.

Filipa (off panel): Who's the mute spaniard boy?
Ângela (off panel): He... He's not human.
